If you’re a Registered Manager who wants more than just keeping a home ticking over, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for. At Florinee Homes, we believe the best homes are led by people who care deeply about how things feel day to day – for children and for staff. This role gives you the chance to shape a home in your own way, build a team you’re proud of, and create a place where children can finally feel safe, settled, and supported to move forward. This isn’t about stepping into a rigid model or being micromanaged. It’s about owning the home, setting the culture, and being trusted to lead with warmth, high standards, and common sense.
What the role is really about
As Home Manager, you’ll be the person who sets the tone – not just on paper, but in practice. You’ll lead the home day to day, making sure it meets the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, yes – but more importantly, you’ll make sure it feels like a home where children are understood, listened to, and cared for properly.
You’ll have real scope to:
- Build and develop your team in a way that works for your home
- Embed trauma‑informed, child‑centred practice that staff genuinely believe in
- Put systems and routines in place that bring consistency and calm
- Create a culture where staff feel supported, confident, and held to high standards
You’ll be visible, involved, and present – someone your team can trust and your children can feel safe with.
About you
You’re likely already a Registered Manager (or an experienced Deputy ready for that next step) who knows that good leadership changes everything. You’ll bring:
- A Level 5 Diploma (or working towards it) and a real commitment to learning and growing
- Solid experience working with vulnerable children, ideally in residential care
- Confidence leading teams, making decisions, and staying calm when things get tough
- A strong understanding of Ofsted, safeguarding, and what good looks like in practice
- A genuine belief in developing staff to get the best outcomes for children
- A full driving licence and the flexibility to take part in the on‑call rota
Above all, you’ll care about doing the job properly – for the children, for your team, and for yourself.
What you’ll get in return
- Salary up to ÂŁ60,000 per year, reflecting the responsibility and impact of the role
- A performance‑related bonus linked to Ofsted outcomes and quality of care
- Death in service cover
- Access to health and wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme
- Generous annual leave and meaningful ongoing training
- A leadership team that trusts you, supports you, and values your professional judgement
- A monthly contribution voucher to help with everyday costs
- Access to internal and external support networks – because we know this role can be demanding
Why Florinee Homes?
Because here, you’re not just filling a vacancy. You’re being given the space to build something that matters – a home where children feel safe to be themselves and staff feel proud of the care they give. We value strong leadership, honest communication, and doing the right thing even when it’s hard. You’ll be supported, but not boxed in. Trusted, not micromanaged. And recognised for the difference you make.
If you’re ready to take ownership, lead with heart, and create a home you’re genuinely proud of, we’d really like to hear from you.
