This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established community mental health team for older people. The independent prescriber role is a new post within the team, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with medics and other leaders to develop the role and its structure.
The team includes experienced Consultant Psychiatrists, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), and other Independent Prescribers. The successful candidate will receive clinical supervision and support to integrate into the team and build confidence in the role.
The team also comprises Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support Workers, and administrative staff. We are a close-knit, supportive group committed to providing high-quality mental health care to patients and their carers, while also fostering a caring work environment.

We seek a qualified Independent Prescriber with experience working in Community Health services for Older People. The role involves working alongside our Medical Team, including a Consultant Psychiatrist and ACP, to review patients, assess current treatments, and prescribe within your scope of practice.
The role may also include visiting patients at home or in Care Homes for medical reviews. It will have a leadership component, working with team leaders to develop quality improvement initiatives and deliver training and advice to clinicians.
This position is based at Coleman House in Dover and will involve working across localities, including Folkestone and Deal. The post holder must hold a full, valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for business purposes, unless exempt due to disability under the Equality Act 2010.
