We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to work within the Production Department, providing practical operational support for the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment and wiring harnesses, as well as testing this equipment during manufacturing.
This role also involves the installation, testing, and modification of aircraft electrical and avionics systems into new aircraft or major aircraft components in accordance with approved data.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture of aircraft electrical/electronic components to meet drawing requirements.
- Manufacture of wiring harnesses using specialist hand tooling.
- Testing electrical/electronic components during manufacturing with basic test equipment.
- Crimping and soldering terminations and connectors, wiring harness forming, and lacing to meet standards.
- Completing technical administration and process packs.
- Adhering to tool control procedures and company health and safety policies.
- Installation of wiring harnesses, electrical, and avionics components into aircraft or components.
- Ensuring calibration of all tooling and test equipment within the workshop.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- 5 GCSEs Grade C/4+ including Maths and English.
- BTEC ONC or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics discipline.
- Recognized Electrical/Electronic or avionics apprenticeship (desirable).
- Minimum five years experience in manufacturing electrical/electronic equipment or wiring harnesses.
- Experience with basic electrical/electronic test equipment.
- Aircraft/aerospace production experience (desirable).
- Experience working on small turboprop or piston fixed-wing aircraft (desirable).
