The predicted salary is between 28000 - 36000 £ per year.

Location: Milton Keynes, UK

Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30. However, operational needs will require flexibility occasionally.

Starting salary: From £35k up to £45k based on the skills and experience you bring.

The Role:

As a PLC Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing process, ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently. To do this, you will:

  • Design and develop PLC programmes for our existing and upcoming automated production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades on PLC systems to keep our technology at the forefront of the industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to implement process improvements and enhance productivity.
  • Train and support production staff in the operation of PLC-controlled equipment.

About You:

Experience:

  • Theoretical knowledge, gained through related study or on-the-job experience, of PLC programming, HMI, and industrial automation. Knowledge of Schneider and Allen Bradley platforms is an advantage.
  • Practical application of PLC programming knowledge from design to implementation stages, either within an education-based project, or projects in a previous PLC Controls Engineer role preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

  • Problem-Solver: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying root cause issues and driving workable solutions.
  • Communication: Articulate in verbal and written communication appropriate to the situation and your audience.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, gaining input across multiple functions to ensure compliance in engineering projects.
