About the Role

Are you an experienced finance professional with excellent attention to detail and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records? Nightingale Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance Department. The post holder will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the hospital. You will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, preparing payments, reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate accounts payable records. You will also support month-end procedures and provide general finance administration as required. Working within a professional and supportive environment, you will ensure all accounts payable activities are completed accurately and on time, while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality when handling financial and patient-related information.

Who We're Looking For

  • You will have previous experience in an accounts payable or finance administration role.
  • You will have a good understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • You will be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
  • You will be able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be confident responding to supplier queries professionally.
  • You will be able to work independently while also contributing effectively to the wider Finance team.
  • Above all, you will be reliable, professional and committed to maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and high standards of financial administration.

Requirements

The following skills and qualifications are essential:

  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance administration role.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using accounting or financial management software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

Strongly desirable qualities include:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a healthcare, private healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting month-end procedures and account reconciliations.
  • Experience dealing directly with suppliers and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial administration issues.

Working Hours

Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week. Flexible working schedule may be available.
