The Florence Nightingale Agency has been in business since 1997. Our team of office staff and support workers provide home-based support to help people live the way they want to, in the home and in the community. Our company is based on providing quality services and supports in efficient, friendly and proactive ways.
We are looking for a dynamic and empathetic individual with experience in a similar or related industry. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong attention to detail, capable of thinking creatively and working independently. They will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations and conversations with empathy and professionalism. A qualification in Health or a related field would be a distinct advantage, along with strong IT proficiency and experience in multi-tasking and prioritising tasks.
This particular role is based in our Christchurch office, Monday to Friday 40hrs per week - 8.30am - 5pm and covers the coordination of services for our clients in Canterbury (as well as supporting the rest of the team when needed).
Day to day you will be:
- reviewing referrals about clients from the hospitals/ACC providers
- taking calls from people wanting some help at home
- loading data and details into our swish database system
- organising rosters, matching support staff with clients based on their needs/skills
- updating clients and staff about rosters and services
- responding to changes
- following up and checking in on how cares are going
- supporting recruitment of new support workers for the clients in your region
This is a fast-paced environment that requires you to be able to respond to shift requests professionally, promptly and accurately which involves juggling emails and incoming and outgoing calls; multitasking is key! Although it can be busy, it’s a very rewarding role supporting the health, wellbeing and joy of others!
To be considered you will need to:
- come with awesome spoken and written English
- be comfortable with computers, databases, email, data entry
- have attention to detail
- be a decent person, who cares about the wellbeing of others
Having healthcare knowledge, roster/service coordination experience is a huge plus (but we can teach that). $29 - 31 per hour depending on experience.
