We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and energetic female Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting two women in their early 30s to live full and meaningful lives within their community. They are social, enjoy getting out and about, and thrive when supported by the right person with the right attitude and skills.

About the Role

This role involves providing holistic daily support, including personal care, community participation, and household tasks. You will work as part of a team (day shifts typically with two staff, sleepovers as a sole worker) and play a key role in supporting independence, safety, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care & Daily Living
    • Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
    • Toileting support (commode use three times daily)
    • Assisting with feeding and hydration
    • Medication administration (including epilepsy medication – training required)
    • Monitoring wellbeing and responding to any concerns
  • Community Support
    • Transporting and accompanying to community outings, events, cafés, and social activities
    • Supporting participation in activities such as dancing, swimming, and outings
    • Ensuring safety and engagement when out in the community
  • Home & Household Support
    • General household duties (cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.)
    • Meal preparation (following prepared plans)
    • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised home environment
  • Safety & Wellbeing
    • Identifying and preventing hazards
    • Supporting safe mobility and wheelchair use
    • Managing behaviours such as skin scratching with appropriate strategies
    • Reporting incidents promptly
    • Using sound judgment and intuition to escalate concerns when needed

Essential Requirements

  • Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
  • Aged 25+ (insurance requirement)
  • Confident driving a wheelchair-accessible van
  • First Aid certification
  • Willingness to complete training and learn detailed care routines
  • Non-smoker/vaper preferred
  • Valid right to work in NZ
