Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain

Demand Planning and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development) and external vendors (labs, packaging partners) to ensure aligned production timelines.
  • Perform root cause analysis on forecasting errors or stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor real-time inventory levels across warehouses to maintain optimal stock health and avoid overstock or stockouts.
  • Define and maintain minimum and safety stock thresholds for all SKUs, components, and packaging materials.
  • Create purchase orders based on forecasted demand, supplier lead times, and product life cycles.
  • Coordinate the delivery of components and finished goods from suppliers to warehouses and ensure that items are quality-checked and received as per specification.

Logistics

  • Communication with the sales and customer service team is key.
  • Monitor and analyse key shipping metrics: delivery times, cost-per-order, return rates, and shipping accuracy.
  • Review logistics and 3pl invoices for accuracy, approve charges, and conduct regular rate benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Implement initiatives to improve shipping options, reduce delivery times, and lower operational costs.
  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound freight, including imports and exports between the UK, EU, US, and other global markets.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant cross-border shipping.
  • Prepare shipping documentation (commercial invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations) for seamless customs clearance.
  • Request and compare quotes from multiple freight partners to ensure best rates and lead times.
  • Ensure all logistics partners comply with packaging requirements, and retailer-specific delivery standards.
  • Create comprehensive supply chain and logistics dashboards and reports to monitor key metrics such as inventory turnover, stock coverage, supplier performance, and fulfilment accuracy.
  • Provide monthly reporting on COGS, stock on hand, return and damage rates, and logistics spend to the finance and leadership teams.
  • Highlight variances between forecast and actual sales, adjusting plans accordingly and communicating insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify supply chain risks (e.g., supplier delays, geopolitical disruptions, raw material shortages) and recommend contingency plans.
  • Continuously evaluate logistics, warehousing, and procurement processes to identify cost-saving and service improvement opportunities.
