Job Role:
We are recruiting for an experienced, qualified Maintenance Fitter. A Maintenance Fitter maintains the company’s bespoke equipment to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the plant, carries out preventative maintenance daily and installs new equipment as required. Respond to breakdowns in the correct manner, organise store items and ensure stores are correctly stocked to minimise breakdown times.

We are a leading manufacturer of precast concrete products which are used extensively in the construction sector.
Duties
- Take a lead role in the daily maintenance and repair of specialist precast equipment.
- Ensure all emergency maintenance is carried out in a timely manner to prevent impact on customer orders.
- Conducting quality and safety maintenance when equipment breaks down.
- Keeping a record of preventative and emergency maintenance carried out.
- Keep a record of store items and ensuring this is correctly stocked.
- Working as a team with the other maintenance engineers/fitters to ensure all planned maintenance is carried out.
About you
- Maintenance/Engineering Qualification (NVQ, City and Guilds. HNC, HND)
- Significant maintenance/ Fitter experience within a heavy duty/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics (Essential)
- Welding and Cutting experience would be advantageous.
- Diesel engine experience would be advantageous.
- The ability to fault find and test automated machinery.
- A good understanding of health and safety is essential.
- Confident in electrical testing (3 phase knowledge would be advantageous).
- Willingness to further your skill set and complete the necessary training.
- Can do professional attitude.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Can work individually and also work as part of a team.
Additional Information
The maintenance team are a close-knit friendly team and pitch in where needed to share knowledge. This has led to the bulk of the maintenance team being trained from scratch in house on our bespoke equipment. Therefore, there will be a lot to learn when you join, however, we are keen to listen to your knowledge and use existing maintenance skills set to benefit the current team.
