We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to join the Flooring 4 Less family — one of the UK’s most trusted names in quality flooring and carpets. The Role

As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of your store team. You’ll drive sales, maintain high operational standards, and ensure that customer satisfaction remains at the heart of everything we do. You’ll have the autonomy to run your store effectively — from managing stock and staffing levels to achieving ambitious sales targets — all while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, motivate, and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
    • Recruit, train, and support colleagues to uphold Flooring 4 Less values and standards.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to help your team reach their full potential.
    • Manage rotas, timesheets, and staffing levels in line with business needs.
    • Champion a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and enthusiasm.
    • Drive sales performance through effective leadership, motivation, and coaching.
    • Deliver a consistent, high-quality customer journey from initial consultation to installation.
    • Ensure all customer leads and enquiries are followed up promptly and professionally.
    • Resolve customer queries and complaints swiftly, maintaining Flooring 4 Less’s reputation for quality and care.
    • Achieve and exceed store and personal sales targets through strong product knowledge and service excellence.
  • Store Operations
    • Oversee daily store operations to maintain efficiency and compliance with company policies.
    • Ensure the store is well-presented, safe, and welcoming at all times.
    • Manage stock levels, deliveries, and product displays to optimise sales.
    • Maintain accurate employee and sales records.
    • Build relationships with local suppliers, contractors, and the wider community to promote the Flooring 4 Less brand.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Demonstrate detailed understanding of all carpet, laminate, vinyl, and hard flooring products.
    • Confidently measure, calculate, and convert dimensions in both imperial and metric units for quotes and orders.
    • Advise customers on product suitability, installation requirements, and aftercare.

About You

  • Proven experience in retail management, ideally within the flooring, carpet, or home improvement industry.
  • Strong sales background with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire a team.
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills, with accuracy in measurement conversions and quotations.
  • Highly organised, commercially aware, and motivated to achieve results.
