We are Floorplan Group, a fast-growing local construction and renovation business based in Eastleigh and the surrounding areas. We want to change how things are done in the industry and deliver the best quality and service we can to the homeowners who work with us, and we need great people to join us as we expand.
We are seeking a reliable and skilled plumber to join our lovely, close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable plumbing and gas experience (5+ years), with the ability to work independently and as part of our main gas engineer and plumber. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential. Own van and tools are essential.
We have multiple large projects booked until August 2026, so plenty of long-term work available for the right candidate. Upcoming site locations include Winchester, Portsmouth, Fareham, Eastleigh, Hedge End, Southampton city centre, Shirley, Bournemouth, and Havant over the next 8 months. The role will also include managing smaller jobs from Checkatrade and attending tenanted properties in the same locations.
The goal is to start as a subcontractor paid week to week in hand. Regular drinks and thank you gestures/gifts from the director, a great team to work with, site foreman managing the projects and leading the team, and a solid admin coordinating the customer service and scheduling. You will be a core part of the team and we are happy to design the role around your skill base and support with extra training and skill development if desired.
Key Responsibilities:- You will work on 95% domestic projects, including extensions, conversions, small home improvement projects, kitchen & bathroom installations and more. NO CSCS card is required.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, labourers, electricians, plasterers, and bricklayers, to complete projects efficiently.
- Fully diagnose a job before starting work, identifying the materials you need and other trades that may be required for full completion.
- Fault-finding, servicing and repairs to boilers and other gas appliances.
- Inspection and certification of other gas appliances such as cookers.
- Installation of new boilers and other gas appliances.
- Occasional associated plumbing work as required.
- Be willing to work out of hours to the requirements of the client and participate on the call out rota, when required.
- Communicate with the operations centre to provide your estimated completion time, materials used on the job and completion details.
- Ensuring the customer and admin team is kept fully up to date with all aspects of the work and that they understand any disruption to their day-to-day living that may arise from your work.
- Carry out other basic plumbing works and support fellow engineers where required.
- Confident in the Installation/Replacement of Radiators and Cylinders.
- The annual inspection and testing of boilers and the subsequent issue of Landlord Gas Safety Certificate (CP12) in tenanted properties.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Follow health and safety regulations while on-site.
- At least 5 years as a Plumber in a domestic setting - no less.
- Efficiency and reliability. Turn up when needed, communicate effectively and work to a high standard to meet our clients' deadlines.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to plastering tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver very high-quality finishes consistently.
- Ability to work independently on different sites as well as with others in a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and represent our business in the best light.
- CIS registration.
- NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
- CENWAT1 - Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters.
- MET1 - Meters.
- CKR1 - Domestic Cookers.
- G3- Unvented Qualified.
