This role has a minimum base pay from $18.49 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

Purpose

Floor & Decor Senior Designers lead our design team and provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Senior Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate them on all that is required for their project, and build a creative design concept that incorporates the customers\\\’ personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)
  • 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education
  • Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
  • Prior retail/sales experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Essential Functions

  • Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
  • Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
  • Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store
  • Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
  • Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy and timely follow-up, using company communication tools
  • Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals
  • Support company initiatives and coaching best practices with store employees
  • Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
  • Understand and utilize design applications (e.g., Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject)
  • Participate in local professional affiliations (e.g., ASID, NKBA)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Limited travel may be required by car
  • Exposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy noise levels

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. May require standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, or crouching as needed.

Store Hours

Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
