As a Quality Engineer at Flooid, you will work closely with engineering and business teams within an agile environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You’ll contribute to both manual and automated testing, advocate for best practice, and support continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. This is a collaborative role where quality is shared, and your input will shape how we build and test our products.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts and other team members to define and deliver quality solutions within agile delivery teams
- Contribute to test planning, estimation, and the creation of test scenarios for new features
- Design, create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
- Execute tests, analyse results and ensure clear reporting of outcomes
- Identify, log and manage defects through the software testing lifecycle, including root cause analysis
- Support Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) practices
- Ensure appropriate test coverage for all features delivered
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quality engineering standards, tools and practices
- Review test artefacts and share knowledge within the wider Quality Engineering community
Requirements:
Essential
- Experience working as a Quality Engineer or similar role within an agile environment
- Strong understanding of test automation concepts and tools (e.g. Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or similar)
- Experience with TDD / BDD approaches (e.g. Cucumber, Gherkin)
- Good knowledge of programming languages and frameworks (e.g. Java, Spring/SpringBoot)
- Experience using source control systems (e.g. Git)
- Understanding of API and web testing tools (e.g. Postman, REST Assured)
- Solid knowledge of data formats (e.g. JSON, XML) and database concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Desirable
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins)
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Xray)
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g. GCP)
- Exposure to mobile testing (iOS/Android) or retail/POS systems
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments
- Experience working within a global or distributed team

- Location: Hybrid. UK based. You should be able to travel to the Birmingham, UK office a few times a month.
