At Flooid, Product Owners help shape and deliver products used by leading retail and hospitality brands around the world. This role focuses on translating product vision into clear, prioritised work for delivery teams, ensuring we build the right things in the right way. The Product Owner works closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and other stakeholders to maximise value, balance competing priorities, and keep delivery aligned to customer and business needs. This is a hands-on, collaborative role with a strong focus on outcomes and continuous improvement. The Flooid Product Owner role works on a global scale.
The primary duties of this position include:
- Own and manage the product backlog for one or more product areas, ensuring it is clear, prioritised, and aligned to product goals
- Work closely with Product Managers to understand product vision, strategy, and success measures
- Translate customer needs, business objectives, and technical requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate day-to-day with Engineering to support delivery, clarify requirements, and make timely decisions
- Participate in discovery activities, including customer conversations, feedback reviews, and usability insights
- Continuously assess priorities, balancing customer value, business impact, and technical considerations
- Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
- Ensure delivered outcomes meet agreed acceptance criteria and deliver intended value
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, providing transparency on progress, risks, and trade-offs
- Use data, insights, and feedback to inform ongoing backlog decisions and improvements
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- Experience working as a Product Owner (or similar role) in a software development environment
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and backlog management
- Proven ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience working closely with Engineering teams on a day-to-day basis
- Experience in retail, hospitality, payments, or similar technology domains
- Familiarity with complex software platforms, APIs, or cloud-based solutions
- Ability to prioritise effectively and make informed decisions
- Clear, confident communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to use data and feedback to guide decisions
- Comfortable working with ownership, accountability, and a degree of ambiguity

- Exposure to user research, discovery techniques, or usability testing
- Experience supporting production releases and post-release learning
Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience
Location: Hybrid. UK based. You should be able to travel to the Birmingham, UK office a few times a month.
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday.
