Reward & People Projects Specialist (FTC)

Location: London

Purpose

The Reward & People Projects Specialist will provide dedicated expertise and project management support to deliver a number of key people, reward and operational initiatives within a six-month period.

Working closely with the Head of HR and HR team, the role will be responsible for developing recommendations, preparing business cases, supporting governance activity and deliveringpractical solutions that enhance the employee experience and strengthen reward, and people processes across the organisation.

Performance and Reward Framework

  • Conduct a review of Flood Re's current performance management framework, including performance objectives, one-to-one meetings, mid-year and annual appraisal processes, feedback mechanisms, performance calibration approaches and links to reward outcomes.
  • Assess the effectiveness of current performance management practices in supporting employee development, accountability, engagement and organisational performance.
  • Undertake market benchmarking and research to compare Flood Re's performance management and reward practices against relevant external organisations and best practice.
  • Develop recommendations for the future performance management framework, including options for introducing an Individual Ratings approach and any associated changes to processes, governance, systems and manager responsibilities.
  • Prepare a proposed performance and reward framework, including implementation roadmap, success measures, governance arrangements and change management requirements.
  • Prepare papers, recommendations, business cases and supporting analysis for Executive Committee and Remuneration Committee consideration and approval.
  • Develop draft communications, training materials and manager guidance to support implementation planning and adoption of any agreed changes.

Remuneration Committee Papers Review

  • Develop a project plan and timeline for the 2027 Remuneration Committee review.
  • Conduct external benchmarking and research to support remuneration governance discussions.
  • Prepare reports, analysis, presentations and committee papers for review and challenge.
  • Coordinate inputs from HR, Finance and other stakeholders.

Payroll Provider Review

  • Review the effectiveness, value and service delivery of the current payroll provider.
  • Assess compliance, operational risks and service levels.
  • Undertake market research and evaluate alternative providers where appropriate.
  • Prepare recommendations and implementation options for consideration by senior management.
  • Support transition planning if a change in provider is agreed.

Family-Friendly Pay Review

  • Undertake a review of Flood Re's maternity, paternity and family-friendly pay provisions.
  • Benchmark current arrangements against market practice and relevant industry comparators.
  • Assess operational, financial and cultural implications of potential changes.
  • Prepare recommendations and supporting business cases for senior leadership consideration.

People Services Portal

  • Lead the introduction of a People Services Portal to improve employee access to HR information, policies and services.
  • Review existing HR processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation and improved user experience.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to define requirements and implement the solution.
  • Develop communications, guidance and training materials to support adoption.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in reward, compensation and benefits, HR project delivery or organisational development.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering complex people-related projects.
  • Experience preparing papers and recommendations for senior leadership or board-level committees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes within tight timescales.
  • High levels of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Experience supporting a Remuneration Committee.
  • Experience implementing employee self-service or HR technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of payroll operations and payroll provider management.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience within a regulated financial services environment.
