The Role
You'll be Flok's first dedicated test hire, and will take ownership of testing and product quality, for both our patient‑facing application and internal clinician tools. This is an individual contributor role (at least for the foreseeable future), but with scope for technical leadership in terms of setting testing strategy and direction.
What You'll Do
- Designing and building automated tests (particularly e2e, scale and device‑compatibility tests)
- Performing manual testing (where it adds value)
- Setting overall test strategy, prioritising test efforts, and writing clear QA plans
- Managing the software release process and documenting releases for medical device regulatory compliance
- Reviewing product requirements
- Participating in bug triage/diagnosis and incident investigations
- Configuring CI systems and maintaining test environments
- Improving system observability to facilitate easier testing and debugging
- Providing input into system design decisions with a focus on testability
- Fixing some of the bugs you find (where appropriate)
About You
- You have strong programming skills (ideally in Python / TypeScript)
- You bring wide-ranging system/software test experience, including a breadth of different styles of testing, and with a focus on whole system testing and overall product quality
- You're comfortable setting up CI systems and test environments
- You enjoy working with design and product teams to help shape exceptional products
- You care deeply about your users – championing great experience and access to quality clinical care
- You take initiative and ownership of your work, and communicate clearly
