We are looking for someone to take significant ownership across the stack of our Python/JS applications (patient and internally-facing).
What You’ll Do
We are still small, so everyone works across our stack of Python, Typescript and Rust. You will work on a growing SolidJS/Django/Postgres application, and help us make technology choices going forwards. We work cross-discipline with our clinical product and regulatory colleagues to ensure we are building the right thing for our users. You will work with company leadership to make strategic decisions, have direct contact with patients your work helps, and invent things to solve problems we haven’t yet spotted. Help us shape the way the software team works as we grow, maturing our processes and mentoring new hires.
About You
- You have built consumer applications across the static/SPA design spectrum, from server-side traditional MVC apps to fully client-side JS apps.
- You enjoy working with design and product teams to help shape the product you are building.
- You can write Vanilla Javascript but prefer Typescript (or another compiles-to-JS language) for production use.
- You have worked in modern Python codebases for large production applications.
- You care about your users—you bias towards building the right thing, before building the thing right.
Bonus Points
- Experience with software medical device development (or other regulated industries).
- iOS/Android mobile application development (native or otherwise).
- Able to design UIs (e.g. in Figma) for a great patient experience.
- Experience working in a startup.
- Worked with WebRTC or other real-time technologies.
- Built DSLs/compilers.
What We Offer
- Interesting and challenging work.
- In-person working from a beautiful workspace in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
- An onsite gym.
- A digital health subscription of your choice.
- Early stage equity with employee-friendly terms (via an EMI scheme).
- Comprehensive medical coverage (including dental and optical) and life insurance.
- Optional remote working on Wednesdays, with an annual allowance of 10 extra remote days.
- Desk setup allowance for your favourite keyboard/mouse/whatever!
- Regular pulse-checks to help us build a culture we are proud of.
- Monthly team BBQs and desserts on Flok.
- A fast-paced work environment geared towards excellence and professional growth (with an annual training budget).
- Top-notch specialty tea and coffee.
- A chance to have a big impact in a small early stage team making a difference to the lives of people across the UK.
