Every healthcare system in history has been a fundamental trade-off between quality and scale - our mission is to change that. We're building a new category of AI-native healthcare provider, using full-stack care automation to deliver world-class treatment at population scale. Our AI physiotherapy clinic is already democratising access to 24/7 healthcare for NHS patients across the UK, and we're just getting started.
The Role
NHS patients aren't one audience — they speak different languages, have different reading ages, different cultural contexts, and live in regions with different healthcare pathways. We need to be deliberate about how we adapt the service for each of them. That's where you come in. As Localisation Project Manager, you'll be Flok's first dedicated hire on localisation — making sure our AI physiotherapy service works as well for a Polish speaker in Peterborough, or a patient with low digital literacy in Tower Hamlets, as it does for everyone else. We’re building now for UK regional and accessibility work. When this grows into new international markets, we'd love for you to be part of that next chapter too.
What you'll do
This is a hands-on role, with ambitious growth plans. You'll be the person who owns the day-to-day mechanics of unlocking our service to speakers of the most common community languages spoken by our NHS patients. You’ll need to write requirements, brief translators and reviewers, track what's done, and unblock any issues. You'll work with Product and Engineering teams on how variants are surfaced in software, with our Clinical team on the service needs, and with our Implementation team on what NHS partners want prioritised. As Flok expands (eventually into international markets too), the need for localisation will also grow, so if you're early in your career but ready to step up, this is a chance to grow with the company.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 2+ years of experience in a role that involved localisation or a closely related discipline — ideally with some exposure to a regulated or healthcare setting
- Communicates clearly and warmly with cross-functional partners — clinicians, engineers, external translators and NHS stakeholders — and adapts their style to each
- Is detail-orientated without losing the bigger picture
- Stays organised under pressure — comfortable juggling several workstreams and keeping all of them moving
- Takes initiative — spots problems early, proposes fixes, and follows through without needing to be told twice
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and change; we’re a scale‑up and the playbook is still being written
- Cares about access and inclusion, and can spot when content is technically correct but practically inaccessible for the people who need it
- Is excited by working on a regulated product where quality genuinely matters
We don't expect you to have done these, but they will help you stand out:
- Fluency in a second language, particularly one of the common community languages spoken by NHS patients within the Trusts that we work with;
- Experience with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
- Prior exposure to localisation tooling
- Project coordination experience in a fast-moving scale-up
What We Offer
- Challenging work at the frontier of AI-native healthcare
- In-person collaborative culture in a beautiful work space in the Cambridgeshire countryside
- An onsite gym and digital health subscription of your choice
- Early stage equity with employee-friendly terms (via an EMI scheme)
- Comprehensive medical coverage (including dental and optical) and life insurance
- Optional remote working on Wednesdays, with an annual allowance of 10 extra remote days
- Desk setup allowance for your favourite keyboard / mouse / whatever!
- Monthly team feasts (and the BBQ is used most days)
- A fast paced work environment geared towards excellence and professional growth (with annual training budget)
- A chance to have a big impact in a small team transforming care and outcomes at population scale
