Our vision is a new category of habit‐forming healthcare globally; one that is patient‐centred, predictive, and intrinsically scalable. We're a digital‐native healthcare provider, using personalised video streams to deliver treatment pathways at population scale, with transformative economics. By personalising each patient's interaction in real‐time, we deliver world‐class medical treatment in an engaging consumer experience.

You'll be Flok's first dedicated test hire, and will take ownership of testing and product quality, for both our patient facing application and internal clinician tools. This is an individual contributor role (at least for the foreseeable future), but with scope for technical leadership in terms of setting testing strategy and direction.

What You'll Do

  • Designing and building automated tests (particularly e2e, scale and device‐compatibility tests)
  • Performing manual testing (where it adds value)
  • Setting overall test strategy, prioritising test efforts, and writing clear QA plans
  • Managing the software release process and documenting releases for medical device regulatory compliance
  • Reviewing product requirements
  • Participating in bug triage/diagnosis and incident investigations
  • Configuring CI systems and maintaining test environments
  • Improving system observability to facilitate easier testing and debugging
  • Providing input into system design decisions with a focus on testability
  • Fixing some of the bugs you find (where appropriate)

You'll collaborate closely with the rest of the engineering team and all Flok employees, but you'll be the go‐to expert dedicated to test strategy and quality ownership. You'll also help mature our engineering processes as we grow, mentor new team members, work directly with company leadership, and see the impact of your work on real patients.

About You

  • You have strong programming skills (ideally in Python / TypeScript)
  • You bring wide‐ranging system/software test experience, including a breadth of different styles of testing, and with a focus on whole system testing and overall product quality
  • You're comfortable setting up CI systems and test environments
  • You enjoy working with design and product teams to help shape exceptional products
  • You care deeply about your users - championing great experience and access to quality clinical care
  • You take initiative and ownership of your work, and communicate clearly

Bonus Points

  • Software medical device development (or another regulated industry)
  • Working with video streaming and/or real‐time technologies
  • Startup experience
  • Managing software release processes
  • Setting test strategy for your team/product/company

  • In‐person working from a beautiful work space in the Cambridgeshire countryside
  • An onsite gym
  • A digital health subscription of your choice
