As a Design Project Engineer, you will be tasked with developing, leading and supporting the design aspects of various Flogas Customer and Depots upgrades and new installation projects for LPG, LNG and Metered Estates. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the design work for new installations and plant upgrades in line with company standardisation and safety by design.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Utilising Flogas’ standardised approach, wherever possible, develop design solutions to client’s briefs with input from strategic design partners, design team and subcontractors.
  • Developing relationships with clients and stakeholders during early concept stages; manage expectations of the individual projects through regular communication and discussions regarding design requirements and technical specifications.
  • Adopting a proactive approach to value engineering and standardisation, by keeping up to date with latest technological improvements and legislation requirements or changes.
  • Providing technical support to Sales on new business and all prospects in pipeline.
  • Driving the safety message and ensuring large bespoke projects go through relevant safety studies.
  • Aiming for standardisation in design and documentation for more conventional, time proven plant configurations.

What We’ll Need From You:

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or in a similar technical field, background or qualification.
  • Previous experience in a design related role.
  • Experience of process and control engineering along with participation in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of projects.
  • Must be technically proficient in 3D CAD, with experience of preparing engineering drawings.
  • Experience in Chemical or Petrochemical industry in a plant design environment.
  • Experience of carrying out process equipment sizing and general engineering calculations for gas pipelines such as pressure drop, gas velocities and heat balance equations.
  • GCSE Maths & English.
  • Technically aware of design safety studies, e.g. HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL, etc.
