As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will provide technical support to the business and cost‑effective designs based upon customer requirements in line with Flogas’ established standard designs to ensure continuity across all sectors. With support from the wider team, you will learn to develop, lead and support the design aspects of various Flogas Customer and Depots upgrades and new installation projects on LPG, LNG and Metered Estates.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop innovative design solutions to client’s briefs with input from strategic design partners, project design teams and subcontractors utilising a standardised approach wherever possible.
- Develop relationships with clients during early concept stages; manage expectations of the individual projects through regular communication and discussions regarding requirements and specifications.
- Periodically, specific projects will emerge requiring the input of the Graduate Design Engineer. These may include, but shall not be limited to, areas such as Combined Heat & Power (Nat gas, LPG & Biomass fuelled) – Investigate business case, identify incentives available, evaluate suppliers and make recommendations.
- Develop knowledge of LPG and LNG gas plants.
- Keep up to date with all relevant standards, regulations and codes of practice.
What We’ll Need From You:
- Graduate in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Competent user of MS packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- AutoCAD would be desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to plan, organise and project manage.
- Ability to write detailed and organise technical documentation such as reports and standard procedures.
- Basic experience of using CAD software at university level.
