How you’ll power our business as an EC&I Technician

As an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and operational testing of instrument and electrical related equipment and systems to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation of our storage facility.

Here at Flogas, we may have a fossil fuels background, but we’re working towards delivering 100% renewable energy to our customers by 2040.

We’re already supporting our customers to reduce their carbon emissions, by helping them make the switch from oil to gas.

We’re also developing our offering for technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels, beginning to help our customers reduce their energy consumption and evolving new bio‑fuels and renewable gases.

  • Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out maintenance using the company standards and procedures.
  • Complete scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:
  • Safety Systems (SIL), Fire & Gas Systems
  • Flow, Pressure, Temperature and Level Measurement and Control Systems
  • DCS Systems
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems
  • PLC Systems
  • Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Lead complex fault‑finding and root cause investigations, implementing robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide assistance for projects, working with vendors and sub‑contractors as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and deliver preventative and corrective maintenance using Maximo CMMS systems, ensuring high‑quality data and asset history.
  • What We’ll Need From You
  • Extensive experience in an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation role within a COMAH or equivalent high‑hazard industry (e. g. LPG, oil & gas, petrochemical).
  • Proven ability to lead complex fault‑finding activities, conduct root cause analysis, and deliver robust, long‑term engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience owning and maintaining critical control and safety systems, including defining maintenance strategies and driving system performance and reliability.
  • Strong working knowledge of process safety principles and COMAH regulatory expectations, with experience supporting and engaging in regulatory inspections and audits (e. g.

HSE), including provision of technical evidence.

  • Ability to act as a technical authority on site, making sound engineering decisions, challenging existing practices where required, and supporting both operations and maintenance teams.
  • Strong experience working closely with operations teams in a live plant environment, with a clear understanding of operational risk and plant interfaces.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document, articulate, and elevate technical issues where required.
  • Experience supporting site audits, inspections, and maintaining high standards of compliance documentation and audit readiness.
  • Relevant qualification in a technical field (e. g. HNC/HND in Electrical/Instrumentation), Comp Ex certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Previous HV experience in an AP or SAP role.
  • TUV certified with working understanding of functional safety.
