Are you a bright, ambitious Mechanical Engineering graduate ready to launch your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking energy business? Flogas, part of the global DCC Energy family, is looking for a talented engineer to join our graduate programme and grow into a fully accredited professional engineer.
Why Flogas?
Flogas Britain is one of the UK’s leading off-grid energy providers, delivering innovative liquid gas solutions for over 40 years. We are at the forefront of the energy transition, moving customers toward lower carbon solutions, and we have ambitious plans to expand into renewables. As a graduate with us, you’ll be part of a business that is bold, innovative, and committed to sustainable energy.
Our Avonmouth LPG Terminal near Bristol is pivotal to our supply chain, storing up to 17,000 tonnes of LPG – the largest above-ground LPG facility in the UK. Excitingly, our Avonmouth Phase 2 Project will double storage capacity, open access to seaborne LPG supply, and set the stage for future renewable energy developments.
What We Offer:
- A structured graduate programme with rotational experiences across operations, projects, business development, and technical services.
- Opportunity to work on high-profile projects critical to the UK’s energy infrastructure.
- Mentorship and support towards professional accreditation (e.g., CEng).
- Exposure to renewable energy initiatives and cutting-edge technologies.
- Flexible working arrangements and a diverse, inclusive culture that values your development.
Assessment Process
Our selection process is designed to give you the opportunity to showcase your skills and potential:
- Stage 1: Successful applicants will be invited to complete a short application form and submit a brief assessment video.
- Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will take part in a virtual interview with members of our team.
- Final Stage: Candidates who progress will be invited to attend an in-person assessment centre.
About the Role
This graduate programme is designed to develop you from a talented graduate into a fully accredited mechanical engineer through hands-on rotations across our business. Over the course of the program, you will experience:
- Operations & Maintenance: Support the team at Avonmouth, analysing performance, implementing improvements, conducting inspections, and delivering remedial projects.
- Project Engineering: Work on the Avonmouth Phase 2 Project, providing technical assurance for mechanical engineering deliverables during EPC execution.
- Business Development: Contribute to the development of renewable liquid gas opportunities such as ammonia, bio-LPG, and renewable DME.
- Technical Services: Support LPG installations across the UK and help shape corporate standards and procedures.
You’ll be based primarily at Avonmouth, with regular opportunities to travel across the Flogas network, reporting to the Technical Services Engineering Manager.
