We’re looking for a part‑time Operations Assistant to join our team to help keep us organised and efficient as the business continues to expand.

About you

You’ll be a proactive and organised person who is able to multi‑task and co‑ordinate people efficiently. You’ll be working with our management team to ensure both of our studios (Glasgow & Manchester) run smoothly and that the team have everything they need to do their best work.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing support to our team of artists, including adding projects to our project management tool, assisting with resourcing and compiling reports
  • Finance admin using Xero including creating and reconciling invoices, payments and expenses
  • Supporting the Managing Director with day‑to‑day admin as required
  • Managing HR admin such as holiday requests and recording sick leave
  • Facilities coordination including liaising with cleaning contractors, building management, etc
  • Booking travel and assisting with logistics for trade shows and industry events
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of Float’s processes
  • Acting as an ambassador for Float and uphold our core values of curiosity, integrity, collaboration and innovation

Person specification

The ideal person for this role will have at least a year’s experience in a similar operations or studio management type role. It’s imperative that you are adaptable, resilient and have a great eye for detail so you can keep us on track as we continue to grow.

You’ll be coordinating people across different locations, so you must be a confident and clear communicator with the tenacity to see a task through to completion and to drive projects forward.

You’ll be able to undertake a diverse range of tasks, involving different people and different activities, so you’ll need to be able to prioritise and work to strict deadlines. It’s a bonus if you have experience of managing social media, however this is not essential.

Working at Float

Our working day typically runs Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm and you’ll be working from the studio for the majority of the time, so you must be able to reliably commute to Glasgow city centre.

You’ll receive a generous annual leave allowance and opportunities to develop your skills as well as further your career. The salary for this role is dependent on experience.

We expect the role to be 20 hours per week, with hours and working pattern negotiable with the successful candidate. Flexibility on days and additional hours would be advantageous.
