The Senior Product Designers at Flo play a pivotal role in shaping complex, system-level design solutions that elevate user experiences across the Flo app. This role combines deep expertise in UX thinking, interaction design, systemic thinking, AI tooling and visual craft with the ability to architect scalable frameworks and influence product direction. As a senior individual contributor, you will be tackling the most challenging design problems, setting the quality bar for the team, and ensuring designs are accessible, inclusive, and emotionally resonant. You will collaborate with product, engineering, research, medical, legal and content disciplines, leveraging high-fidelity prototypes to drive critical business decisions, raising craft excellence, and contributing significantly to Flo’s overarching vision.

Your Experience Must have:

  • 8+ years of professional experience designing mobile applications.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in systemic design, advanced prototyping skills, micro-interactions, and the ability to architect solutions with measurable product impact.
  • Experience creating scalable frameworks, contribution to design systems, and interaction models.
  • Experience designing gamified or behaviour-change-driven experiences.
  • Proficiency in Figma and advanced prototyping tools (e.g., Protopie).
  • Experience using motion and animation tools (e.g., Lottie, Rive, After Effects).
  • Experience leveraging AI/LLM tools to accelerate design exploration and streamline concept validation (e.g., Claude, Vercel).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to distill complex ideas into clear narratives and influence stakeholders.
  • Deeply collaborative, with experience mentoring and raising the craft bar for design teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in health tech or regulated industries.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead complex design projects (0 → 1), creating scalable frameworks and systems that support growth and innovation.
  • Proactively tackle complex and ambiguous challenges, defining requirements and prioritising the most impactful workstreams to deliver clear, compelling, user-centred experiences.
  • Design features, e2e flows, and experiments that align with user needs and business goals (e.g., engagement, retention, etc.).
  • Produce high-fidelity prototypes and mock-ups using Figma or advanced tools, strategically utilising AI to streamline the concept-to-validation process.
  • Develop and evolve interaction models, motion principles, and visual systems that scale across teams and inspire adoption.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content designers to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Proactively mentor peers, junior designers, and non-designers, providing actionable feedback and upskilling guidance to raise the overall craft bar.
  • Advocate for emotionally intelligent, ethical design and ensure accessibility standards are upheld at every stage.
  • Be a key contributor to our design system, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and scalability in all outputs.
  • Integrate AI tools into day-to-day work.

What you'll be measured on:

  • Deliver complex design initiatives that significantly improve user engagement, retention, and user satisfaction outcomes.
  • Strengthen Flo’s design systems, frameworks, animation and motion principles to enable scalable, high-quality design across teams.
  • Raise team capability and craft standards by mentoring peers and contributing to a culture of design excellence.
