About the role: We are looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee our company’s core product development team that drives our product across multiple countries and offerings. Bring your ideas - the wilder and the crazier, the better and establish Flo as the go-to renewable electricity retailer in Singapore and Australia.
What you'll do: This is a full-time role for an experienced Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for managing the team growth, development process, infrastructure and the end-end product life cycle from conception to launch. You will work with the development team to ensure that our product meets customer needs and that we remain competitive in the market. You will also be responsible for identifying new opportunities for growth and driving innovation within the company.
- Grow and lead a team of engineers, who work on Frontend, Backend and Salesforce technologies, committed to building delightful products and robust operating platforms and systems that monitor, maintain, upgrade and deploy across multiple countries, including Singapore and Australia.
- Be technically hands-on, drive product innovation and be an experienced people manager.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.
- Develop products to support customers in the energy retail market through collaboration with internal stakeholder teams, including Product Management, Customer Operations, Market Operations, and Sales.
- Elevate the engineering team's standards through thorough reviews of pull requests, technical designs, and architectural documentation, accompanied by constructive feedback.
- Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and processes to improve operations and increase efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate cross-functionally across various teams working across different time zones (SG and AU), organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts.
- Lead the team’s delivery plan, executing the roadmap while focusing on developer productivity.
- Lead the team's innovation efforts, bring in new ideas and technologies.
- Hire and scale the organization to enable our business growth.
Qualifications: Proven track record and at least 5 years of direct management/leadership experience in a technology company and experience in leading complex and high scale projects end-end in an agile environment. Will be leading a cross functional team consisting of Salesforce, Frontend and Backend engineers, so it will be great if you already have exposure in at least some of these areas or are willing to ramp up on them. Are interested in how technology can improve the environments people live in and proactively propose new products-features / ideas to help the people. Superior organizational, ownership, leadership and communication skills. Are a collaborative person that believes in the Agile principles and how they can help empowered teams deliver the best software. Possess a strong understanding of security best practices and can implement security measures to safeguard our data and systems. Have a proactive and collaborative approach to working with diverse technical and non-technical teams. Exposed to a fast paced environment and willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands dirty when needed.
Extra points if you:
- Have experience with both functional and OO programming, the JVM ecosystem and TypeScript.
- Have previous experience in the electricity retail market or a similar industry.
- Have hands on experience with AI tools and Frameworks (Cursor, Claude Code etc) in production.
- Are enthusiastic about diving into ongoing projects and providing hands-on support where needed.
