We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to help develop, own and deliver visually stunning and lifelike animation content, both for Flix's own internal projects and our high profile co-development partners. As a key component of our Animation team, you will utilise your technical abilities and creativity to breathe life into game content, contributing to the overall immersion and player experience. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, solid work ethic and a positive, pro-active attitude.
Responsibilities
- Design, create and implement expressive and believable gameplay-driven animation content, for characters, creatures, and other in-game objects - from prototype to final implementation.
- Follow and uphold animation style principles, maintaining consistency across the project and ensuring content aligns with the game's aesthetic, gameplay, and narrative requirements.
- Actively participate in Animation reviews, giving and incorporating feedback to improve the quality of game content.
- Follow best pipeline practices for content creation, optimization, and performance, ensuring work meets visual quality standards and runs smoothly across target platforms.
- Pro-actively communicate and collaborate across discipline teams to help uphold the game's quality bar and delivery requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven Animation experience within games, with a showreel demonstrating strong keyframe animation, and a demonstrated knowledge of game loops and gameplay feel.
- Strong understanding of game animation content creation for Unreal Engine, including the full rigging, skinning, animation and implementation process.
- High proficiency in relevant industry-standard software including Maya, Blender or equivalent.
- Demonstrated core Animation skills and command of fundamentals such as weight, timing, and readability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work positively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage your time effectively and own end-to-end delivery of your work.
- A passion for gaming and a drive to deliver visually stunning and captivating gaming experiences.
Desirable Skills & Technologies
- Experience with third person combat gameplay and high-fidelity paired animations, such as enemy executions.
- Specific expertise in Unreal Engine implementation, and knowledge of tools/techniques such as Control Rig, Sequencer, Motion Matching, IK and Blend Spaces.
- Familiar working with motion capture data to enhance and refine animations and experience executing mocap shoots.
- Skills in facial animation.
