Job Description
Raymarine is a world leader in the design of state-of-the-art marine electronics products. We have an extensive range of well-designed reliable products which include Sailing Instruments and Chartplotter displays through to high-end Sonar and Radar, all using state-of-the-art technology. In this role you will be an integral part of the team supporting the product development. Throughout the process you will plan and conduct testing to inform, verify, and validate the design direction. You will work closely with the rest of the team applying sound engineering principles and knowledge when designing tests and interpreting results. Using CAD tools you will design test equipment for manufacture using in-house tools as well as working with external suppliers.
This job is for you if you have an excellent eye for detail, an inquiring nature, like working in a dynamic fast-moving environment and get satisfaction seeing the completed product in the shops or on boats in and around the water.
Your job
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the Verification and Validation test plan is completed in line with project requirements.
This will encompass:
- Ownership of the verification and validation test plan schedule ensuring completion in line with project gates.
- Testing throughout the development process.
- Documentation and Reporting. Preparing test plans, procedures, and reports to document test methods, results and findings.
- Identifying and proposing improvements based on test results.
- Creating 3D CAD data and 2D Drawings for manufacture of test equipment.
- Working closely with the Design team including Design Engineers, Environmental Test and Reliability Engineers and Project Managers.
- Participating in relevant project meetings including peer reviews and DFMEAs.
- Providing support for non-project test requirements as required.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have:
- Minimum BSc/BEng in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Experience in a test environment using measurement and datalogging equipment.
- Knowledge of Design for Quality techniques and tools.
- Knowledge of design and testing for harsh environments, including sealing, corrosion resistance and vibration.
- Experienced with Solidworks.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Willing to work with the team in the office 5 days a week.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
