Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Design Organization Approval (DOA) and its handbook.
- Support the UK CAA yearly audits related to the DOA.
- Generate applications to obtain UK‑CAA STCs for Teledyne products.
- Lead design reviews and generate manufacturing drawings, kit drawings, and aircraft documentation (Master Data Lists, Weight and Balance, Electrical Load Analysis, Engineering orders, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness).
- Work with the US Certification department to support US‑FAA STCs and generate minor modification data packages.
- Maintain knowledge of aviation regulations and Teledyne products to design interfaces and modifications compliant with UK‑CAA.
- Interpret existing aircraft design to develop electrical, mechanical and functional interfaces and modifications for safe installation of Teledyne Controls avionics.
- Generate compliance and substantiation documents for STC projects (EWIS, System Safety Analysis).
- Support First‑of‑Type (FOT) installations at domestic and international customer locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university, or five‑ to six‑year related experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Proven experience in certifying avionics appliances and avionics systems.
- Strong regulatory background and experience working with the UK CAA and understanding regulatory requirements for commercial aircraft.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to act as a technical certification interface internally and externally.
- Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD.
Travel: Requires approximately 10% domestic and international travel.
