We are looking for a hands-on Laser Department Team Leader responsible for delivering production targets while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency. The role combines leadership and machine operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily production targets
- Monitor workflow and minimise downtime
- Ensure efficient machine utilisation
- Operate laser machinery as required
- Carry out machine setups and changeovers
- Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate where necessary
- Lead and support a small team, allocating work and managing priorities
- Provide guidance and maintain team performance
- Perform in-process quality checks, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards
- Identify and address defects quickly
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Reduce waste and improve right-first-time performance
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure compliance with H&S procedures
- Uphold good housekeeping (5S)
Skills & Experience
- Experience with laser drilling or similar equipment
- Previous team leader or supervisor experience
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of quality and production processes
