Position
We are looking for 7 Craft Apprentices to join our site in St. Asaph, North Wales within our Manufacturing Team. Candidates should have a keen interest in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Learn and become responsible for the manufacture of precision mechanical / optical components using a variety of machine tools to satisfy technological needs in-line with engineering requirements.
- Work in the Model Shop, collaborating with design and development engineering teams to identify technical solutions and manufacture precision hardware utilizing CAM software, CNC and conventional machine tools.
- Participate in internal department development plans and follow the internal department development plan led by a dedicated mentor.
Apprenticeship Programme
- Complete Performing Engineering Operations (PEO)
- Complete a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Engineering
- Complete a Level 3 Manufacturing NVQ in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Complete a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Complete Engineering Essentials Key Skills
Development Plan
Attending an approved qualification programme on one or two day release basis, dependent on Engineering qualifications. Follow an Internal Department Development Plan, led by your dedicated Mentor.
Qualifications
- Good level of general education.
- Minimum of grade C in Mathematics and English Language.
- Completed or in progress relevant Engineering course (details of modules and results).
- Ability to time manage external qualifications whilst working full-time.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Timekeeping skills.
- Driving licence.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Personal Specification
The ideal candidate should have a desire to continue learning to HNC level, good attention to detail, interpersonal skills and excellent timekeeping skills.
