Job Outline
This role will support the coating process in order to increase output levels and efficiently manufacture products.
Support work will include the cleaning of optical parts, the preparation of components for loading into coating fixtures, and the measurement of final parts.
The successful candidate will be closely monitored by more experienced staff and will be required to follow strict operating procedures.
The role involves the handling of high value products, which must be dealt with the appropriate levels of care and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating Vacuum Coating chambers to deposit coatings on components used for both military & commercial applications.
- Cleaning of an optical product.
- Preparation of the product for loading.
- Measurement of final coated product.
- Personal Specification
- Applicants must possess a good level of education and hold qualifications in mathematics and science at GCSE level (or equivalent).
- Candidates will also be required to demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and a positive attitude to work.
- The ideal candidate will have an engineering based background (preferably involving high-value / precision made products) with knowledge production processes, gained from practical experience.
Desirable Attributes
- Physics or Maths based qualification(s) at A-Level (or equivalent) standard or higher.
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (preferably involving high-value/precision-made products).
- An appreciation of mechanical principles.
- AS9100 awareness and/or experience is desirable.
- It would also be a great advantage if applicants had Optical Handling experience and competence in the use of PC’s, however given the specialised nature of our business full training will be given.
Flexibility of working hours may be required, along with availability to work overtime to meet business needs.
