To work as an effective member of an Early Years team assisting in the delivery of a flexible, high quality learning and childcare which meets the needs of young children and their families.

Overview

South Ayrshire Council provides early years education and care across Ayr, Girvan, Maybole, Prestwick and Troon. We seek a dedicated Early Years Educator to support our vibrant communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning experiences that support child development.
  • Apply and adhere to council policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Monitor and evaluate practice to ensure quality service provision and service improvement.
  • Contribute to service improvement to ensure a best value, customer‑focused approach to service delivery.
  • Communicate information and advice clearly, concisely and accurately through written and verbal communication.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant early years qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of early years best practice and curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Regulated Work candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme or undergo an update if already a member prior to formal offer.

Work Pattern

  • Monday - 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Tuesday - 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday - 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Thursday - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
