Under the direction of the Young Carers Lead Officer, the post holder will embed recognition of Teeny Carers (young carers under the age of 5) within standard processes for Early Years, Health Visiting and Social Care staff, and developing resources needed for this cohort, for example, Teeny Carer Statement. This post holder will raise awareness of teeny carers with families, staff, and external organisations.

Requirements

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made. Interviews for this post are scheduled for 23/01/2026. This post is temporary until 01/10/2027. The grade of this post is Level 7. The work style for this post is Hybrid Worker. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service. Successful candidate should be flexible to work evenings and weekends, as required.
