Overview


The role is part of the Cloud Network Infrastructure (CNI) team responsible for delivering and supporting mission‑critical infrastructure across private and hybrid cloud environments. You will play a key role in modernising infrastructure platforms, including Kubernetes, storage, virtualisation, and directory services, ensuring high availability and operational efficiency. The role involves both hands‑on engineering and design activities, supporting ongoing transformation initiatives and BAU support of critical systems.


Key Responsibilities



  • Design and execute Windows Active Directory migration to new environments.

  • Design, implement and maintain OS patching solutions for both Linux and Windows platforms aligned with best practices.

  • Build and configure virtualisation environments (e.g. Proxmox) to migrate ISE from VMware to the new environment.

  • Support the implementation of new Kubernetes (K8s) clusters.

  • Support build, integration, and operation of cloud infrastructure (private and hybrid cloud environments).

  • Assess and optimise existing ESXi environments, including defining and executing exit/migration strategies.

  • Support hardware installation and infrastructure deployment activities where required.

  • Perform level3 troubleshooting and incident resolution across infrastructure and platform layers.

  • Work with internal engineering and architecture teams to define and improve future platform designs.

  • Support automation, provisioning, and orchestration for infrastructure deployments.

  • Conduct testing and validation in lab environments for new releases, patches, and infrastructure changes.

  • Produce technical documentation including HLD, LLD and operational procedures (MoP/runbooks).

  • Participate in operational support, including on‑call rota if required.


Project Milestones



  • Milestone1 (1month): Design and execute Windows Active Directory migration to new environments.

  • Milestone2 (2months): Design, implement and maintain OS patching solutions for both Linux and Windows platforms aligned with best practices.

  • Milestone3 (4months): Build and configure virtualisation environments (e.g. Proxmox) to migrate ISE from VMware to the new environment, Kubernetes (design, deployment, operations), Virtualisation platforms (VMware ESXi and Proxmox).


Qualifications



  • Solid experience in Linux (RHEL or equivalent) and Windows environments.

  • Experience with storage technologies including CEPH, SAN/NAS, or enterprise storage platforms.

  • Proven experience in Active Directory migration and management.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Shell).

  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues (L3 support).

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (OpenStack, AWS, Azure or similar).

  • Experience working in mission‑critical/high‑availability environments.

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure integration.


Desirable Skills



  • Experience with OpenStack/Mirantis Infrastructure APIs (REST, automation tooling).

  • Enterprise backup and storage systems.

  • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments.

  • Experience working with telecoms or highly regulated environments.
