The AXE Engineer will provide technical expertise in Ericsson AXE telephony systems, supporting global telephony infrastructure across multiple regions. This role focuses on hardware and software operations, maintenance, and development support for AXE Servers and associated media gateways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for Ericsson AXE telephony Servers globally (current scope: 5 Servers across Europe, APAC, and the US).
  • Maintain and support approximately 40 global media gateways (IS and AXD), with ongoing migration to SIP-based solutions.
  • Deliver development support aligned with the evolving requirements of the Legacy AXE platform.
  • Collaborate with BT and internal teams to ensure technical knowledge transfer and effective handover of system changes.
  • Assist with hardware and software upgrades, configuration changes, and troubleshooting tasks as required.
  • Produce accurate documentation of work performed, including system changes, configurations, and technical observations.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience with Ericsson AXE telephony systems.
  • Knowledge of IS and AXD media gateways and SIP migration processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with global telecommunication network operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with on-site and remote teams.

Engagement Requirements

  • The engineer will provide ad hoc support without formal SLAs.
  • Engagement duration and scope to be confirmed based on customer requirements and site-specific considerations.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones and coordinate with international teams.
