The Insurance Litigation Recoveries Paralegal or Litigation Executive will be responsible for managing their own significant caseload of uninsured loss recoveries on behalf of the claimant. Files are handled from start to finish, including key elements of the litigation process. This role reports on a day-to-day basis to the Recoveries Manager and ultimately to the Head of Insurance Litigation as head of department.
Key Responsibilities
- Run own significant caseload of uninsured loss recovery claims on behalf of the claimant.
- Contribute to business development activities for the department where necessary, including working on client pitches and tenders and attending client meetings.
- Ensure financial targets are met within the department, both on a personal and team level.
- Collate and present key metrics for the Recoveries Manager.
- Ensure that all recoveries SLAs and procedures are followed for your specific clients.
- Produce management information as required by the Head of Insurance Litigation and Chief Executive Officer.
- Liaise directly with clients where necessary and be their day-to-day contact.
- Continually upskill personal knowledge of the litigation process, become an expert in all matters and share this with the wider team.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Preferably have prior supervisory experience.
- Preferably have a minimum of a 2:1 legal degree.
- Preferably have prior uninsured loss recoveries experience.
- Preferably have experience in a legal setting.
- Be able to work alone and manage your own caseload.
- Have a genuine desire and interest in working in a contentious area of the law.
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseload.
- Have excellent knowledge of IT systems and processes.
- Be highly motivated.
- Be a team player and able to get on with others.
