Description
Due to growth, we are looking to hire an additional Family Solicitor for our Family & Matrimonial department, to support our regional and national clients, including high-net-worth individuals.

The Family Solicitor will manage a caseload of complex fee-earning matters whilst growing and developing the business through active involvement in business development strategies in conjunction with marketing and business development teams.

We are ideally looking for candidates with 2-4 PQE; however, applicants outside of this will be considered.

Reporting directly to the Head of Family & Matrimonial and based at our offices in Pride Park in Derby, 36.25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of complex matters that will include:
  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on pre and post marital agreements.
  • Matrimonial finance.
  • Shareholding issues and pension disputes.
  • Private law children disputes.
  • Manage your own caseload and work independently.
  • Conducting your own files through to conclusion.
  • Use the Team\’s case management system effectively.
  • Work to a consistently high standard and be self-motivated.
  • Be actively involved in marketing and business development activities.
  • Provide ongoing technical support on matters for more junior fee-earners.
  • Ensure personal legal knowledge is kept up to date and new advancements are communicated to the wider team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ideally 2-4 years plus PQE exclusively in the field of Family Law.
  • Possess excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
  • Be a hard-working and highly-motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
