A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the firm’s highly regarded Employment Team. Our Employment Team provides expert employment law and HR advisory services to an impressive portfolio of regional and national businesses, delivering strategic advice across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The team is recognised for its commercial approach, technical expertise, and commitment to outstanding client service.

The successful candidate will manage a substantial and varied caseload of employment matters, advising clients on a broad range of workplace issues. The role will also involve undertaking advocacy where appropriate, including representation at hearings and tribunals. Working closely with the Head of Employment, you will play an integral role in supporting the continued growth and success of the department. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded employment professional to develop their career within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of complex matters that will include:
    • Providing employment law advice to education and commercial clients.
    • Drafting advice reports, supporting clients with processes and other documentation such as settlement agreements.
    • Assisting clients with HR processes and procedures.
    • Handling cases through tribunal proceedings.
    • Providing support on employment issues arising in transactions.
  • Provide ongoing technical support on matters for junior fee-earners.
  • Ensure personal Employment knowledge is kept up to date and new advancements are communicated to the wider team.
  • Assist the team with any reasonable requests that are in the best interests of the department.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Have experience dealing with contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
  • Possess good knowledge and understanding of tribunal procedures and protocols.
  • Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of employment law.
  • Ideally have an excellent academic background.
  • Possess exceptional client care skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Be highly motivated and able to add value to the role.
  • Be able to demonstrate proactive management of matters with a minimum of supervision.
  • Be a team player and able to get on with others.
  • Possess networking and client development skills.
