We are seeking a driven Paralegal to join our Finance Dispute Resolution department at an exciting time of growth. As a Paralegal you will play a vital role within our Finance Dispute Resolution department by assisting the Partner in the department with a range of complex and contentious matters relating to secured lending. You will ensure that clients, represented by Flint Bishop, receive pro‑active, consistent, and efficient levels of service. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week at our office in Leeds. Reporting to the Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Partner of the finance disputes resolution department with a complex and contentious caseload.
  • Matter creation on Casenet.
  • Dealing with incoming telephone calls and correspondence from our clients in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking fee‑earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the Firm’s quality and risk management procedures.
  • Good financial management of your matters which includes taking responsibility for accurate time recording and billing, managing levels of WIP.
  • Taking responsibility for your own personal development, ensuring that your technical expertise and interpersonal and soft skills are up‑to‑date and continually developing.
  • Working constantly to ensure that the Firm, and you as an individual, provide the highest standard of client care and service to all clients of the Firm.
  • Making outbound telephone calls to our clients, their key suppliers and any parties who have an interest in a property.
  • Working to clients agreed or departmental levels of service (service standards).
  • Any other tasks as set by the Partner or Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Have excellent telephone handling skills and be a strong communicator.
  • Preferably have previous experience in property or litigation.
  • Be able to work in a fast‑paced and challenging environment.
  • Be focused on resolutions and positive outcomes.
  • Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseloads.
  • Be enthusiastic and work hard to develop with the team and the business.
