Flint Bishop is an award winning UK law firm with a growing national debt services practice. We act for major lenders, banks and institutional clients across high volume mortgage enforcement, repossession and recovery work. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Supervising Solicitor to join our Mortgage Enforcement & Repossession team in Leeds, with responsibility for technical oversight, quality assurance and compliance across mortgage enforcement activity within the Debt Services department. This role focuses on technical supervision and quality control within a fast paced, regulated environment. You will oversee mortgage enforcement and repossession work undertaken by fee earners, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently, compliantly and in line with agreed service and risk frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising mortgage enforcement and repossession activity, including pre‑action steps, possession proceedings, enforcement and post‑judgment work
- Acting as a point of technical oversight and escalation on complex, sensitive or high‑risk matters
- Carrying out file reviews, quality checks and compliance monitoring in line with internal controls, client requirements and regulatory expectations
- Ensuring work complies with court rules, pre‑action protocols, SRA obligations and client service level agreements
- Supporting consistency of approach across cases, pleadings and enforcement activity
- Contributing to continuous improvement of processes, documentation and service delivery frameworks
- Working closely with Operations, Compliance and senior stakeholders to manage risk, audit readiness and performance standards
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in mortgage enforcement, repossession or debt recovery litigation
- Experience undertaking supervisory file review or technical oversight
- A strong understanding of volume litigation, court processes and enforcement mechanics
- High attention to detail, sound technical judgement and strong risk awareness
- The ability to work within structured operational and SLA‑driven frameworks
