A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Residential Conveyancing team as a Conveyancing Assistant. We are currently on a recruitment drive across the firm in response to significant organic growth together with several major client wins. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent client-focused services, with high retention rates of both clients and staff remised on sound financial stability. This role would be ideal for someone looking to develop their career in Residential Conveyancing with a varied and interesting workload, flexibility, and freedom in a supportive and friendly environment. Applicants are expected to excel in their role as an assistant working closely with their own fee earner. Reporting to the Head of Residential Conveyancing.
Key Responsibilities
- Open files when necessary
- Obtain title documents from the land registry and draft contracts for the buyers solicitors
- Liaise with all parties within a transaction including working closely alongside partner estate agents
- Make positive and proactive progress on transactions in line with instructions from fee earner
- Assist fee earner with preparing files for exchange and completion
- Deal with clients on a daily basis and provide updates and information when requested
- Deal with the requests for redemption statements and produce completion statements for clients
- Consider and respond to enquiries from buyers solicitors in a competent and timely manner
- Deal with correspondence and telephone calls alongside and in absence of fee earner
- Carry out post completion procedures including preparing relevant and required forms and documents on behalf of our in house accounts department
- Produce and submit land transaction returns
