Full‑time Senior Associate role in Finance Dispute Resolution based in Leeds, reporting to the Head of Finance Dispute Resolution. Hybrid working will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Progress own caseload of secured and unsecured debt recovery, with a focus on complex residential property possession proceedings.
- Draft claim forms and all associated documentation, including applications, witness evidence, defences, replies, and save documentation on the Case/File Management System.
- Deal with clients, courts, opponents and third‑party agents such as counsel clerks, LPC, asset managers and property management companies.
- Provide substantive advice to clients, considering both legal and commercial strategy, including relief from forfeiture applications and associated documentation.
- Record time in the firm's case management systems.
- Support and train fee earners in the financial dispute resolution department.
- Assist with the supervision and development of paralegals and trainee solicitors.
- Work to client agreed or departmental service standards.
- Perform any other tasks as set by the Partner & Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified solicitor with significant PQE.
- Experience in financial legal services, specifically property repossession work or at least asset finance litigation experience.
- Sound knowledge of CPR 55 and knowledge of CPR 55 is essential.
- Enjoy complex workloads and, working in a fast‑paced environment, a strong client manager.
- Be resolution focused and a strong client manager.
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with own caseloads.
