We are a media and investment company, and we are on a mission to elevate the stories, build the communities, and support the founders that inspire a happier, healthier humanity. We scale creator-led media, ventures and communities.
ROLE MISSION
Grow our shows. You'll build and lead the marketing engine behind FlightStory's portfolio of creator-led podcasts, turning great episodes into growing, owned audiences - not just views. You'll set the strategy for how each show acquires and keeps its audience, build the team that runs it, and make the whole system smarter with every campaign.
KEY OUTCOMES
- Grow audience across the show portfolio - this is the core measure of success.
- Shift audiences from "rented" (platform reach) to owned - email, community, CRM - so growth compounds instead of resetting every episode.
- Turn first-party data into a real advantage: use what we learn from each campaign to make the next one sharper.
- Build guest campaigns that convert a big name's fanbase into ours - think a Matthew McConaughey episode becoming a structured acquisition play, not just a good release day.
- Grow community and events as a genuine growth channel, funded through smart brand and sponsor partnerships rather than big budgets.
- Build and lead a lean, high-output marketing function - managing Heads of Marketing, who manage marketing executives across community, product and CRM.
- Prove that innovative ideas beat expensive budgets: our best campaigns have landed national press for a few thousand pounds, or gone viral for organically off the back of the right relationship and timing - set that bar!
- Run a fast test-and-learn culture: know what's worth testing, what to scale, what to kill.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Track record turning rented reach into owned, first-party audiences.
- Hands-on experience with CRM and community as acquisition and retention channels, not just brand campaigns.
- Comfortable operating with leaner budgets and big ideas - creativity is the resource, not spend.
- Experience leading a marketing function through people - managing managers, not just running your own campaigns.
- Data-led decision making, with first-party data actually changing what you do next.
- An instinct for talent and guest marketing - how to attract someone else's audience into your own.
YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF
- You've run a marketing function inside a brand or startup, or worked agency-side at pace - or ideal experience in both.
- You want to be hands-on as well as strategic; this isn't a seat where you only set direction.
- You get energy from doing more with less, rather than relying on the budget to make an impact.
- You want to build and lead a team, and set the standard the rest of the team works to.
- You like the idea of marketing shows and creators the way a record label markets an artist, or an agency markets talent.
IDEAL BACKGROUND
You are a senior marketing leader with a track record of growing audiences in media, entertainment, the creator economy, or consumer brands - ideally with experience both inside a brand/startup and in an agency environment. We'd also love to hear from people with campaign marketing backgrounds, talent/IP marketing at agencies, sports or football club marketing, or culture-led D2C brands. You should have led a team through other managers, and be genuinely comfortable working to high creative expectations at pace.
