FLIGHTSTORY
REPORTING TO
- CEO/Co-Founder & CRO/Co-Founder
- ABOUT FLIGHTSTORY
We are a media and investment company, and we are on a mission to elevate the stories, build the communities, and support the founders that inspire a happier, healthier humanity.
We scale creator-led media, ventures and communities.
ROLE MISSION
Flight Story has already proven the media blueprint.
We're now looking for the operational heartbeat of that engine - someone who takes strategy across brand, content, revenue and marketing and turns it into focused, sequenced, resourced execution.
You decide what happens first, who does it, and what earns its place in the sequence, keeping the whole engine moving at the standard our brands deserve.
This is a role about discipline, prioritisation, and momentum: the craft of how strategy gets delivered.
- KEY OUTCOMES
- Turn strategy into sequenced, resourced delivery plans - creating clarity on what's happening, in what order, and what's deliberately being saved for later.
- Design and run the weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating cadence across short form, long form, marketing, revenue, and experimentation, with clear decision thresholds and ownership.
- Own resource allocation and spend decisions within your remit - put people, budget, and time where they compound most, reallocating fast when the evidence says so.
- Bring operational truth to every decision: what's deliverable, by when, at what cost - killing losing bets cheaply and doubling down fast on what works.
- Champion AI, automation, and efficiency tooling across the engine, and run experimentation on a cadence so weak ideas die fast and wins scale across formats.
- Hire, develop, and retain teams under your remit, raising talent density and protecting culture as the engine's biggest asset.
- CORE COMPETENCIES
- Multi-function leadership across marketing, content production, brand partnerships, and social at scale.
- Prioritisation and sequencing under pressure, with incomplete information - and the ability to show your working.
- Designing and running an operating cadence that keeps a multi-team org focused and moving.
- Resource allocation and spend judgement - investor-like criteria, fast reallocation, sharp sense of ROI, without owning the full P&L.
- Deciding under pressure between strong teams with strong opinions, and managing upward with options and clear recommendations.
- Commercial fluency across brand partnerships, subscriptions, product, and content, and a bias toward data over guesswork.
- YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF
- You're energised by being the operational heartbeat - turning strategy into shipped work is the job you want, not a stepping stone.
- You can hold the middle between co-founders and multiple talented teams with clarity, composure, and optimism.
- You're genuinely excited by what AI and new tools make possible, and love bringing that edge into a business.
- You give clear, kind feedback regardless of seniority, and create a culture where challenge is welcomed and accountability follows every decision.
- You believe in killing the guesswork - testing to remove bias and letting data drive the call.
- You move with a bias to action but think long term - deciding fast and correcting fast.
- You're direct, decisive, and low-ego: you make calls, own them, and change them when the evidence does.
- IDEAL BACKGROUND
- 10+ years of operating leadership in fast-moving media, content, or creator businesses.
- Track record running execution across competing teams - production, marketing, commercial - and delivering the plan.
- Direct experience designing and running a rapid operating cadence.
- Experience owning budgets and making spend/allocation decisions against a plan, with discipline in reallocating.
- Hands-on experience adopting AI, automation, or efficiency tooling that measurably lifted a team's output.
- Comfortable in founder-led culture, reporting to more than one principal.
