Purpose of Position
The Campus Facilities Manager is responsible for managing building maintenance, utilities, and project management for the assigned facility or group of facilities. This role will manage internal resources and/or contracted labor to perform facility maintenance tasks or work orders. The Campus Facilities Manager may manage, delegate or self-perform all general building maintenance, routine maintenance tasks, as well as scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance tasks.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages, trains, and assigns teams of facilities, maintenance, grounds and custodial employees which may include internal resources or contracted labor
- Maintain facility systems which include but not limited to all mechanical systems, elevators, fire alarms, fire extinguisher and suppression systems, and electrical systems
- Perform all general and routine maintenance work; coordinate and/or perform all maintenance departmental service requests, ensuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
- Monitor the execution and quality of work of contractors and vendors.
- Develop policies and guidelines for facilities inspection, set-up, maintenance and repair.
- Design and implement Preventative Maintenance programs per asset requirements at assigned facilities.
- Maintain facility standards for all furniture, finishes and overall condition in a clean and comfortable facility.
- Plan/forecast future projects and repairs in coordination with Manager, Facilities or Supervisor, Facilities.
- Accurately plan and maintain budgets and capital expenses for related projects.
- Communicate with local onsite representatives for scheduling of systems to be tested and/or shut down for preventative maintenance to ensure disruptions are minimized.
- Point of contact for all Physical Security policies, procedures and Security Audits.
- Daily inspect assigned facilities; maintain service records and log identified issues on assets within the CMMS management software system
- Ensure OSHA, EPA, State and Local standards and requirements are being followed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- HVAC Technician Certification
Minimum Experience
- 8+ years’ of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations
- Demonstrated experience in managing facility operations for multiple and/or regional locations
- Relevant work experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting
