The Job
Based in the north east of England to cover Manchester and Liverpool based venues, the Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in raising the profile of Red Engine brands and driving B2B revenue through strategic outreach, relationship development, and brand advocacy. This individual will cultivate strong connections with corporate event buyers, third-party agents, and key stakeholders to enhance awareness and adoption of our products and services.
A confident communicator and natural relationship-builder, the ideal candidate is a self-starter who embodies the values of Red Engine. Working closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, they will identify opportunities, drive engagement, and ensure our offering remains distinctive and market-leading.
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive contact base through data-informed, targeted outreach.
- Collaborating with Regional Marketing, Operations, and Reservations teams to identify and activate growth opportunities across assigned cities.
- Supporting the development and delivery of regional B2B campaigns that elevate the brand and drive revenue.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for high-value event bookers, ensuring their loyalty is recognised and nurtured.
- Developing new partnerships by proactively identifying potential clients and engaging new audiences.
- Acting as a brand ambassador at industry events including trade exhibitions, client meetings, and hosted networking experiences.
- Updating CRM system weekly with activity, customer data, progress against KPIs, and client interactions.
- Providing clear and insightful reports on outreach outcomes, bookings generated, and market engagement.
- Participating in quarterly reviews to assess performance, agree on focus areas, and refine KPIs.
To be successful in this role, you’ll:
- Have proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, ideally within the hospitality, events, or leisure sectors.
- Have strong sales acumen and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate and convert leads.
- Be a strategic thinker with a keen ability to identify commercial opportunities and align them with business objectives.
- Have exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging at all levels.
- Have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with a client-centric mindset.
- Have a deep understanding of market trends and competitor activity within the hospitality landscape.
- Have strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, pricing, and return-on-investment analysis.
- Have excellent organisational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities under pressure.
- Be technologically proficient, particularly with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, DMN Collins, Zendesk and Microsoft Office.
