About ZYMIX

ZYMIX is the AI-native social super-app built for Gen Z to Live the Un-grid — a place where university students escape the algorithm fatigue of legacy platforms and find real moments, real people, real campuses. We are launching across UK universities in 2026 with one goal: 5 million users, 35% four-week retention, and a community Gen Z actually wants to belong to. We are building the company we wish existed: opinionated about design, ruthless about user trust, and a little allergic to mediocrity.

Why this role exists

Every great consumer product is held together by one stubborn voice that refuses to ship anything that confuses, patronises, or wastes a user's time. We do not yet have that voice — and we are already paying for it. You will own how every ZYMIX user feels — from the first push notification through onboarding, the first DM, a forced upgrade, a payment, all the way to account deletion. You are the last person standing between our product and the user, and you take that personally.

What you will do

  • Touchpoint gatekeeping. Every piece of user-facing copy, modal, push notification, email, App Store screenshot, and customer-support script ships only with your sign-off. You hold the pen on tone, clarity, and dignity.
  • Experience audits. Every month, you walk the core journeys end-to-end — signup, first chat, friend discovery, upgrade, payment, complaint, deletion — and produce a prioritised remediation list for Product and Engineering. Nothing rots in silence.
  • Root-cause ownership. When complaints land in support, when the App Store rating dips, when a Reddit thread goes sideways — you are the one who traces it back, files the bug, rewrites the copy, or escalates the architecture problem. You close the loop.
  • Compliance and brand floor. GDPR, the UK Children's Code, brand voice, and accessibility are non-negotiable. You enforce the floor; Product and Growth dance above it.
  • OKR integration. You translate experience into numbers the company tracks — NPS, App Store rating, D1 uninstall rate, support-ticket volume, sentiment delta after major releases — and you defend those numbers in every Growth OKR review.

You are probably right for this if:

  • You have 5+ years in consumer product, UX, or product marketing, with at least one product scaled past 1 million DAU.
  • You have owned the copy, flows, and pixels of a real consumer product — not just a design system, not just research decks.
  • You speak fluent English and conversational Mandarin (ZYMIX is a UK product with a Hangzhou-shaped supply chain — bilingual is real here, not a tick-box).
  • You have strong opinions about consumer apps and can articulate why an Instagram, BeReal, or Strava decision was brilliant or catastrophic.
  • You read user complaints for fun, and your phone is full of side-quest apps you are auditing in your head.
  • You can write copy that a 19-year-old at UCL will actually read.
  • You are comfortable arguing with founders, engineers, and designers — and being argued back at.

You are probably not right for this if:

  • You want a role that is purely strategy decks and no shipping.
  • Your background is B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
  • You believe UX equals wireframes and you outsource the writing.
  • You need a fully-formed team on Day 1 (you will build it, starting with you).

What we offer

  • Meaningful equity in an early-stage, venture-backed company with a clear path to scale.
  • On-site at our London office, 5 days a week — we believe great consumer products are built shoulder-to-shoulder, in the same room.
  • Direct exposure to the founders, CGMO, and Chairman — this is not a layered org.
  • Real ownership — you will be the first and only person with this remit, with a budget and headcount roadmap once you are in.
