Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalised care plans for prisoners.
- Provide ongoing support and therapeutic interventions to individuals with mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with prison staff, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure integrated care.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health interventions and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with NHS and prison service guidelines.
- Participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health policies and procedures within the prison.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
- Relevant experience in mental health nursing, preferably within a prison or secure setting.
- Completion of NHS mandatory training.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Empathy and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
