Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalised care plans for prisoners.
  • Provide ongoing support and therapeutic interventions to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with prison staff, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure integrated care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health interventions and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with NHS and prison service guidelines.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health policies and procedures within the prison.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
  • Relevant experience in mental health nursing, preferably within a prison or secure setting.
  • Completion of NHS mandatory training.
