An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Manager to lead the operational, financial and administrative functions of a busy NHS GP practice in Brighton & Hove.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while supporting both clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver outstanding patient care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving service improvement, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the long-term success of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational, financial and administrative management of the practice
  • Support and manage both clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Ensure compliance with NHS contractual, regulatory and governance requirements
  • Oversee practice performance, budgeting and financial management
  • Drive quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Manage workforce planning, recruitment and staff development
  • Develop and maintain effective operational policies and procedures
  • Build strong relationships with patients, staff and external stakeholders
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred services

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Practice Manager or in a senior healthcare management role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience managing operational and financial performance
  • Good understanding of NHS Primary Care and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lead service improvement and organisational change
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience within an NHS GP Practice
  • Experience with NHS contracts, CQC compliance and Primary Care Networks
  • Knowledge of GP practice finance and workforce planning
  • Management qualification or equivalent leadership experience
